On 19 September 2017, defending champions FC Santa Rosa, marks its 25th anniversary and an auspicious occasion in the history of the club.
Founded as Santa Rosa Soccer School on the 19 September 1992, the Arima based club opened its doors with an initial membership of fourteen boys aged seven to twelve.
Since then, “Rosa” has grown leaps and bounds to become one of the leading clubs in Trinidad and Tobago, boasting numerous regional and national youth and senior titles, including the 2016 National Super League and the 2017 National Youth League U-15 titles.
This consistency and longevity is fueled by an unwavering desire to positively impact the younger generation of Arima and Trinidad and Tobago by extension according to FC Santa Rosa founder, president and head coach Keith Look Loy.
“This 25 year journey has been a labour of love,” stated Look Loy.
“We have faced every hardship – and there have been many – and enjoyed every success – and equally, there have been many – in the knowledge that our work is dedicated to the youth of Arima, and by extension, of Trinidad and Tobago”
He continued, “Over these 25 years, we have touched the lives of many thousands with positive effects and we look forward to the next 25 years. We are Rosa Nation.
FC Santa Rosa, like many of the clubs in the TTSL, have become pillars within their respective communities and a testament to the power of football to change the lives of future generations.
